The Operations Centeracts as the central nervous system for technology and products at Yahoo. Ourteam is responsible for the health and performance of more than 100,000 Yahoosystems globally. Engineers in this role are exposed to the most advancedweb-serving infrastructure in the world!
You will be Yahoo's 1stline of offense battling issues affecting the reliability of our products andservices, you will also be responsible for interfacing with internal/externalcustomers on operational issues, working with senior engineers resolvingcomplex incidents, and facilitating communication between various operationsand engineering teams.

Your Day
Monitor theproduction infrastructure for stability and performance in order to maintain24x7x365 operations.
Ability toquickly learn and apply new technologies within a dynamic and extremelyfast-paced environment.
Ability to beself-directed in daily workload management.
Ability toeffectively communicate via phone and in writing.
Collaborateeffectively with our Incident, Engineering, and Development teams.
Participatein the knowledge transfer on a short term and long-term basis.
You Must Have
An AA degreeor higher in a computer related field or equivalent industry experience.Typical candidates have a BS degree in a computer related field or equivalentexperience in a related field.
Workingknowledge of Linux OS internals (file systems, storage, process lifecycle,etc).
Workingknowledge of basic Linux command line system health diagnostic tools.
Workingknowledge of LAMP architecture and services.
Workingknowledge of a TCP/IP network environment.
Workingknowledge of HTTP, DNS, NFS, RAID, and DHCP is preferred.
Certificationssuch as CCNA and RHCSA or equivalent are preferred.
Successfulcompletion of level 2 security clearance is required.
