As an Operations Center Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the stability of Oath's production and corporate infrastructure 24x7x365.
We are a team of highly motivated and passionate individuals that play a key role in Oath by coordinating operations and engineering teams to identify, triage, and resolve customer impacting incidents, verify service impact to the end users, and work alongside subject matter experts to identify root cause.
The Operations Center acts as the central nervous system for technology at Oath. Our team is responsible for the health and performance of more than 100,000 Oath systems globally. Engineers in this role are exposed to some of the most advanced web serving infrastructure in the world!
Our team's advanced machine-learning monitoring and remediation tooling are used to ensure the stability, performance, and scalability of our network and systems infrastructure.
Responsibilities
You will be Oath's 1st line of offense battling issues affecting the reliability of our products and services. You will also be responsible for interfacing with internal/external customers on operational issues, working with senior engineers resolving complex incidents, and facilitating communication between various engineering and development teams. Teamwork will play a major role in working effectively with peers to create a positive environment within the team.
The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills, the ability to multitask in order to facilitate the resolution of multiple incidents at any given time, and the vision to automate in order to better scale and streamline process.
Required Qualifications
An AA degree in a computer related field or equivalent industry experience.
Typical candidates have a BS degree in a computer related field or equivalent experience
Working knowledge of Linux OS internals (file systems, storage, process lifecycle, etc).
Working knowledge of basic Linux command line system health diagnostic tools
Working knowledge of LAMP architecture and services
Working knowledge of a TCP/IP network environment
Working knowledge of HTTP, DNS, NFS, RAID, and DHCP is preferred
Certifications such as CCNA and RHCSA or equivalent are preferred
Successful completion of level 2 security clearance is required

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
